Sessional Instructor, Futures and Options, Haskayne School of Business

Position Description

The Haskayne School of Business invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach the following course in the area of Finance during the Fall 2018 Session:

The lecture dates for the Winter Term are August 27 to December 24, 2018. Registrar scheduled exams are held December 10 - December 20, 2018, if applicable.

  • FNCE 745 Lec 01 - Futures and Options
    M 18:30-21:15    

After presenting basic definitions, institutional details, and strategies, a general theory of derivative pricing based on the principle of No Arbitrage will be developed. This theory will then be applied to the basic derivative contracts (futures, forwards, put options and call option) as well as exotic options. Using the binomial model, as well as the continuous time model of Black Scholes, hedging and replication will also be examined.


  • MBA degree or equivalent and work experience in the field are desirable.
  • Previous post-secondary teaching experience is preferred.
